Snack around workout

1/3 of a cup of granola with 1/3 of a cup of apple sauce and tsp of hot chocolate mix.

The above will get you about 35 grams of carbs that is easily digestible and tastes great. I like to use this as a snack if I am in a hurry and do not have time for a full meal. Another instance would be before or after a workout. I typically like to save my carbs for after a workout as I am more of night time eater and tend to fast more in the am. If I workout a bit later and have to run out in the afternoon and need something quick this is a great option. If you have kids, this can be a great way to allow for some regular sugar with fiber and nutrients. This particular granola has no seed oils with maple syrup and brown sugar as the sweetener. No artificial sweeteners or extra poison, simply a much better option if you are craving something a bit sweet and/or need to replenish the glycogen after a tough workout.
